XX ANNIVERSARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITIES OF THE CASPIAN REGION STATES
The General Assembly as an international event was held at the Atyrau State University-Kazakhstan, On October 2017, with the theme of “CONNECTING MINDS, STRENGTHENING TIES”. The heads from 55 members of the Association, including universities and research centers of the Caspian region, were invited to participate. Delegations were consisting of two participants from each member of the Association: the head and, the director of the department of scientific and/or international cooperation.
The opening ceremony of the meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Science of Kazakhstan and Heads of State Universities of the Caspian Sea from the countries of Russia, Dagestan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Iran. The potential and capacities of cooperation between the SANRU University and the other foreign counterparts were discussed. The President of the of Sari Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources University stated that joint educational and research courses, exchanges of professors and students, as well as holding joint workshops and conferences, can be considered as development capacities by state universities of the Caspian Sea, that could be effective in joint scientific and research work of the parties.
It is worth mentioning that in the course of this session, simultaneous with the concluding of the Memorandum of Understanding between the academic collaboration and the pursuit of the previous memorandums, the holding of the sports Olympiad of state universities of the Caspian Sea was agreed with the aim of developing cultural and sports cooperation.
