University Hosts Closing Ceremony of the 18th Student Sports Olympiad

The University held the closing ceremony of the 18th Student Sports Olympiad at Shohada-ye Khoshnam Hall, organized by the Vice-Chancellery for Student Affairs in collaboration with the University’s sports associations. The event recognized outstanding students and teams for their achievements across various sports disciplines.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Mojtaba Khoshrosh, Acting President of the University, emphasized that the Olympiad represented more than competition, highlighting values such as teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth. He noted that sport plays a vital role in promoting a balanced lifestyle and encouraged students to pursue athletic activities alongside their academic responsibilities.

Dr. Khoshrosh further stressed the importance of integrating physical activity into daily life, stating that the development of the mind should be accompanied by the cultivation of physical well-being. He expressed hope that the experience gained through participation in the Olympiad would contribute to students’ future success both in their academic journeys and professional lives.

During the ceremony, Dr. Zafarian, Director of Physical Education, presented an overview of the University’s sports programs and initiatives. The event concluded with an awards ceremony honoring the top-performing individuals and teams.

In the men’s competitions, the futsal league featured 12 teams, with Celtic securing first place, followed by Shahin and Richmond in second and third places, respectively. The men’s volleyball league included 10 teams, where Tika claimed the championship, Azadi finished second, and Caspian placed third.

The women’s volleyball league was held with the participation of four teams—Valibarha, Michka, Aban, and Sanro—with Valibarha winning the title. In the women’s futsal league, four teams—Chita, Aban, Sorena, and Raad—competed, with Team Aban securing first place.
