Two Faculty Members Ranked Among the World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists in 2024

According to the latest update of Stanford University’s global ranking, two faculty members of the University have been ranked among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists for the year 2024. Based on the annual update of the Stanford University database, Dr. Ali Motavali, a faculty member of the Department of Biosystems Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Mohammad Reza Kasaei, retired faculty member of the Department of Food Science and Engineering, have been included in this prestigious list for several consecutive years.

Dr. Maryam Ghorbani, Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology, noted that this ranking evaluates authors’ citation impact over a one-year period (2024) across 20 major scientific disciplines and 174 sub-disciplines. The list identifies researchers whose scholarly output places them within the top 2% of the most-cited scientists worldwide. Inclusion in this ranking reflects the high quality, scientific influence, and international visibility of the research conducted by these faculty members.
