Farewell and Introduction Ceremony of the President of Sari Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources University

According to the Office of International Scientific Cooperation, the farewell and introduction ceremony of the President of Sari Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources University was held with the presence of Dr. Khezri, Advisor to the Minister and Director General of the Ministerial Office, provincial officials, and university faculty members.

Dr. Khezri, Advisor to the Minister and Director General of the Ministerial Office of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, expressed his pleasure to be at a university with over five decades of academic, research, and educational activities, equipped with research farms, study gardens, extensive facilities, more than 2,800 students across 85 fields and specializations, over 135 faculty members, and more than 215 academic assistants. He emphasized the university’s national, provincial, and local responsibilities and highlighted the importance of adhering to its strategic plan, particularly in fulfilling social responsibilities toward society and the environment.

He further stressed the university’s role in addressing environmental challenges, such as water imbalances, through scientific and practical solutions, and underscored the importance of maintaining the university’s academic authority in agricultural sciences. According to Dr. Khezri, the university must train competent, skilled, and patriotic graduates who can contribute to the development of Iran, while also engaging alumni and supporters to assist in meeting institutional needs.

Hojjatoleslam Fazlian, representative of the Supreme Leader in the university, appreciated the services of the outgoing president, Dr. Moradi, particularly for his efforts in family-oriented initiatives, and expressed hope for continued progress under the leadership of Dr. Mojtaba Khoshrosh.

Dr. Mojtaba Khoshrosh, Acting President of the University, thanked Dr. Moradi for his dedicated service, expressed gratitude for the support of the Ministry of Science, and outlined his vision for the university’s transformation. He emphasized alignment with national development plans, enhancing efficiency and productivity, promoting sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship, fostering creative and capable generations, strengthening faculties and new programs, leveraging knowledge management, data-driven decision-making, boosting revenue, and advancing international collaborations.

Dr. Hossein Moradi, former president, congratulated Dr. Khoshrosh and highlighted that the current position of the university is the result of collective efforts by dedicated and expert teams over the years. He noted the university’s mission-oriented approach to solving critical issues, including water scarcity and Mediterranean fruit fly challenges.

The ceremony concluded with Dr. Khezri presenting a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Moradi on behalf of the Minister of Science and formally appointing Dr. Khoshrosh as Acting President. During the ceremony, Dr. Khezri also paid tribute to the university’s esteemed martyrs and visited its educational and research facilities.
